Central African Republic

Formerly known as Ubangishari, the Central African Republic is a land locked country located in Central Africa as the name suggests. According to the Africa Elephant Status Report in 2016, the savanna populations of the Central African Republic have almost completely disappeared, with the only remaining populations occurring in the forested south-west area. CAR joined the EPI in 2024.
